The Biggest, Loudest I Love You

A very big heart. A very quiet voice. One joyful “I love you.”

Tula is a little elephant who loves her family very, very much. But every time she tries to say “I love you”, the words tumble down into her tummy. A warm, funny read-aloud that helps little ones say it to Mama and Papa, to a big brother and to Grandma, in their own time and in their loudest voice.

The idea behind the book

Love is easy to feel. Saying it out loud can take a little courage.

Some children feel everything deeply, then go quiet right when it’s time to say it. We wanted a story where that quiet is okay, and where the love keeps growing until it simply has to come out.

Tula tries again and again: at breakfast, in the garden, when Grandma arrives with a basket of plums. She even draws her love instead. And every time her words get stuck, your child gets the chance to say it for her, out loud.

Look inside

One day, so many chances to say it.

About The Biggest, Loudest I Love You

What age is The Biggest, Loudest I Love You for?

Ages 3 to 5. It is made for reading aloud together, with short lines, sound words and four moments where your child gets to say “I love you” out loud.

What is the book about?

Tula, a little elephant, loves her family very much, but whenever she tries to say “I love you” the words get stuck in her tummy. All day she finds new chances to say it to Mama, Papa, her big brother Bo and Grandma, and her love keeps growing bigger until it is ready to come out.

Does it help shy children say how they feel?

That is what we made it for. Tula is never pushed or told off. She tries drawing her love and whispering it first, and the story shows that big feelings can be shared in your own time. The join-in questions let your child practise saying it to each person in the story.

Is it a good gift from grandparents?

Many families will recognise Grandma visiting from the little house over the hill. A grandparent reading it with a grandchild, and hearing “I love you” at the end, is very much the moment we had in mind.

What is at the back of the book?

Pages to play with after the story: frames to draw the people you love, a love balloon to fill with hearts and names, the Say-It game (say “I love you” in a whisper, like a mouse, like a lion and like an elephant) and Tula’s whole family.

How long is it?

It is an 80-page, 8.25 × 11 inch hardcover in full color, with about 800 words. It takes about 10 minutes to read aloud.

When is it out?

Very soon. It will be on Amazon. Write to us and we’ll let you know when it is out.
